The other day, we had a John Dory that our friend Bob, a fisherman, brought us. It was the bycatch of his squid haul. But that wasn’t the only fish — he also gave us a tilefish. Today, I brought it over to the home of our friends Les and Val, and combined it with some haddock Les had bought that day in New Bedford. I made a rustic sort of fish stew with olives, capers, and tomatoes, and we had a lovely dinner.
