The L and T in BLTs

It was our very first Brandywine and, since we don’t know how many we’ll get before the blight consumes our plants, we wanted to make the most out of it.  We fried up some of the bacon from the pig we bought in the spring, plucked a few lettuce leaves from the romaine patch, and got a nice seedy rye from Pain D’Avignon, the local bakery. 

Best BLT of the year.  So far, at least.
