I do believe our brandywines are finished, and this was the last of them.  We might possibly get one more to ripen, but I doubt it.

  1. I’ve heard of two ways to get green, end-of-season tomatoes to ripen: one is to root prune them so they put the last of their energy into ripening what fruit is left- this seems somewhat risky to me.

    The other method is to pull the whole plant up by the roots, and hang it up in the garage. My next door neighbors, who used to have a farm before they retired, swear by the hanging in the garage method.
