Garlic bulbils

If you already know what bulbils are, you’re way ahead of where I was when I found them growing in my garden.  They look like mini bulbs, and they grow in the scape — the center stem that the garlic plant develops before it flowers.

It tastes like regular old garlic, and I chopped up the three of them I harvested, sauteed them in olive oil, and turned them into a pasta sauce with some vermouth, smoked salmon, goat cheese, and peas.
