I use “creamed” loosely. I cut up my daylilies and steamed them for a couple of minutes (I used the microwave). Then I added some frozen corn, and steamed for another minute. The “creamed” part is a little butter and a little half-and-half (not more than a couple teaspoons of each), added to the mixture, along with salt and pepper. Steam another minute, so the butter melts, and you’re good to go.
