It was exactly a month ago that I committed to eat at least one item each day that was hunted, fished, gathered, or grown. I haven’t bored you with the daily details because January was essentially the same three things, over and over. Oysters, clams, and trout. And then oysters again.
But I have to fess up. On days when I’m fresh out of oysters, clams, and trout, I do have a back-up plan. There’s a restaurant down the street from us with a little garden out front. In that garden is a big, healthy rosemary bush. Amazing, how many things you can make with rosemary.
